Threw this together after buying the preorder of the ff8 Remaster:

This seems justified, if in need of a little tweaking.

Justifications:

7 - Always probably my fave and the best really. Best soundtrack all around.

8 - I knew this would place highly and it didn't disappoint me. For the record, I love all five of these games and they are the only ones I've played to completion; I have a 6 save on the PS1 but not very far in, must give the Steam version a go after all this.  Anyway, 8 is great. Triple Triad helped it a lot. Also some genuinely funny/good dialogue in plenty of places. Yes the plot goes off the rails but it's a fun ride.

9 - starting to slip away a bit. The soundtrack was one big clone of itself, most egregiously so in this one. The side characters fall away a bit in the last disc (or equivalent) and Kuja/Necron/Garland etc weren't too compelling after the Alexandrian Empire was brought down.

10 - of course it looks great, Some stupid dialogue but hey voices were kind of a fun change. I liked the Sphere Grid and the ability to switch party members mid battle.

12 - on a recent playrthough, not as compelling as what came before but still a gorgeous game with a seriously good soundtrack. Shame the main characters, villain and plot weren't all that compelling in this ridiculously long game.
