October 30 day cycle challenge oct 22 to nov 22

I attempted a 30 day in a row challenge - to cycle every day. Totally arbitrary and not forced just something to do, something different seeing as I can't swim or run so good anymore. I lasted 13 days! I went out on the 13th night and day 14 was Halloween AND really rainy so that's where it ended.

On the plus side, I will keep up the cycling for another few months but be more relaxed about it, maybe take the weekends or at the minimum Saturdays off.

There were no real cons but the weather outside was frightful sometimes, I only got caught a couple of times but it would put you off cycling constantly.

My entire route was confined to the Dangan Sports Centre and sometimes I would go through Corrib Village and back, which was a nice change as there are very few cars and no potholes. Sometimes the path by the river would be quite puddle-y.

I also struggle with bursitis or something in my hip namely my right hip and I noticed after a few days this totally vanished and indeed my 2-3 walks home a week from college became so much easier. I was walking like an old man at points before doing this cycle thing but that totally changed.

My notes from the cycle challenge:

30 day cycle challenge oct 22 to nov 22

1 back hurts

2 ass hurts

3 felt sick

4 did not get rained on! (had a pizza)

5 - soaked

6 - soaked

7 - felt good!

8 - good

9 - almost perfect, sun in sky, wet ground but no issues

10 - perfect, dry, added a little extra distance here and there and 230 is good time (had a Chinese for dinner)

11 - perfect took it chill full distance done

12 - cut short a bit but missed the rain thankfully

13 - got creative with loops and avoiding crowds, took easy due to drink previous day (ate some Chinese), went out for a second night in row

14 - DID NOT CYCLE, combination of rain, tired and Halloween meant I gave it a miss and thus ended the challenge. Will attempt again in a more relaxed format in a few days.

Distance was roughly 9km for cycles 1-11, 12+13 were maybe 6km.
